OUR STORY

With over 30 years of professional experience, CompSci, LLC Founder and CEO Scott Brandt has a wealth of career experiences. One of his favorites way early in his career when he worked at a consulting firm in the telecommunications space. The energy, passion and shared commitment to delivering value for clients left a lasting impressions on Scott and served as his inspiration for starting CompSci, a company with a similar mission but a unique vision.

While many of our competitors aim to create a “captive” relationship with their clients in order to keep the revenue flowing, we do the exact opposite. Through our knowledge-transfer partnership model, we strive to provide quick, complete solutions and educate our customers to become self-reliant. Our theory is that the less you need us, the more successful we’ve made you and ultimately that’s what will keep you coming back.

We work with customers in Healthcare, FinTech, Computing Infrastructure, Telecom, Retail, Oil & Gas, Transportation and Digital Media, and have delivered Distributed Solutions related to web application, SaaS, IoT and mobile. As a small company, we hold ourselves to a greater standard. We can’t afford not to deliver for our clients.

Founder and CEO

As Founder and CEO of CompSci, LLC, Scott Brandt boasts 30+ years of experience in architecting and implementing solutions. He has worked with distributed systems throughout his career, primarily with real-time embedded systems and near-real-time of MentorTek, Inc, which provide product development services in FinTech, IoT and Distributed Applications. He’s also served as VP of Engineering at Positive Software Systems and held a number of different roles in the telecommunications industry.
In addition to keeping up on the latest developments in technology, Scott enjoys reading and playing golf. He holds a B.S in Computer Science from the University North Texas.

Scott Brandt

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Scott Brandt boasts 30+ years of experience in architecting and implementing solutions. He has worked with distributed systems throughout his career, primarily with real-time embedded systems and near-real-time data collection and delivery.

In addition to his role as Develapp CTO, Mr. Brandt is CEO of CompSci, LLC, a Technology Services and Product Development company that provides insights and strategies to its clients by simplifying industry jargon and pulling back the curtain on the “magic” of applied solutions. Prior to founding CompSci, LLC., he served as President of MentorTek, Inc, which provided product development services with service in FinTech, IoT and Distributed Applications. He’s also served as VP of Engineering at Positive Software Systems and held a number of different roles in the telecommunications industry.

In addition to furthering his knowledge about technologies, Scott enjoys reading and playing. He holds a B.S in Computer Science from the University of North Texas.

A. Joe Mitchell, Jr

CHAIRMAN / FOUNDER
A. Joe Mitchell, Jr. is a serial entrepreneur, businessman, and investor, and was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Ernst & Young in 1998.

With a degree from Oklahoma State University in Architectural Engineering, Mr. Mitchell has been inducted into the prestigious OSU College of Engineering Hall of Fame and has also received the OSU “Distinguished Alumni Award.” Mr. Mitchell was also awarded an “Honorary Business Degree” from the OSU Spears School of Business. Both Joe and his wife Connie have been on OSU’s Distinguished Lecture Series. Joe and Connie have helped more than 100 students obtain higher education degrees through their philanthropic support. Their generosity to OSU resulted in the naming of the “Joe and Connie Mitchell Academic Enhancement Center” in their honor.

Born in Perryton, Texas and starting out as a newspaper delivery boy, Mr. Mitchell has started and/or help developed and finance many businesses throughout his career across a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, oil & gas services, software, insurance, construction, manufacturing, land development, and trucking logistics. He also is an avid rancher and devoted family man.

In 1982, Mr. Mitchell founded his first company, ClayDesta Communications, which grew to over $100 million in revenue. In 1987, he founded the wholesale division of Telecom USA, which grew to $400 million in revenue before going public. In 1989, Mr. Mitchell (and wife Connie) founded VarTec Telecom on their kitchen table. With innovative marketing the company grew to over $2 billion in revenue with 8,500 employees in fourteen countries.

Other companies which Mr. Mitchell has founded (or an early stage investor) include Bosque Systems ($100 million+, O&G services), Expert TA (AI grading software), 3 Star Daylighting (O&G transport), CompSci (software development), Red Stag Logistics (milk transport), Ramteq (industrial manufacturing), MitMar Land (development), Texas Republic Insurance (life insurance), RevitalU ($100 million+ network marketing), and 10xXx Ranch (wildlife & cattle).

In 2014, Mr. Mitchell and Michael Slosar founded Branded Web Services LLC, the parent company of Develapp LLC.

Alec Radford

RESEARCH SCIENTIST AT OPENAI

Alec Radford is a research scientist at OpenAI. Previously he co-founded indico, a VC-backed Boston based deep learning startup.  His research focuses on generative models and their applications to unsupervised, representation, and transfer learning in various domains.  

He worked on stabilizing GANs and exploring the properties of the image representations they learn.  More recently he has been developing the GPT family of self-attention based language models for improving natural language understanding and generation.

Brad Hayes

NATURAL LEADER
Brad is a natural leader with more than 20 years of industry and consulting experience. He began his career at GE Plastics in the Information Management Leadership Program and then managed IT operations at NBC’s owned and operated television station in Birmingham, AL until 2006. Brad spent the next 7 years consulting for C-level executives in various industries. He then joined Genuine Parts Company as a Director in the Automotive Parts Group where he managed technology and integration for a $400 million business unit and also introduced predictive analytics to GPC in a custom developed inventory modeling and assortment planning system.

In 2017 Brad founded CXO Solutions, an executive management and technology consulting services firm. Brad was trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt at GE and is a two time EMMY award winner for technical achievement.
